They dont tell you that Olympic archers shoot at 70 metres(80yards) and not the 20yards that the footballer was throwing at. That wasn’t an Olympic archer anyway as they dont allow compound bows at the Olympics only recurve bows. The world’s top compound shooters shooting at 20 yards can shoot 30 (and even 60) arrows without a miss so this demonstration isn’t exactly accurate. His throwing is still impressive however but to compare him to an archer is like comparing a Ferrari to a Volkswagon.

its obvious that they calibrated the relative throw distance for brees w/ the scope vision trijectory an archer has at the standard distance, as well as the speed and power of the arrow being shot. obviously, the relative analysis would be closest compared to a person’s vision perception, throw power, and ball speed at 20 ft.

@BlindZenDriver I’m not sure what you are trying to say, but yes, in football the receiver is part of the equation. But this is an accuracy test not a completion test, so the receiver is not needed. Although I’m not sure how the percentages they mentioned are relevant to this test since a WR can catch an inaccurate pass which increases the QB’s completion % (obviously), compared to archery where the target won’t adjust to an inaccurate arrow (again, obviously). Hopefully that makes sense.

i would only bet on like four guys to do as good.

I remember Drew Brees at a Pro Bowl awhile back when he still played for the Chargers. They had this skill challenge for QBs in which they had to thread the ball through 3 tires of varying ranges going from close to far and Drew Brees hit almost all of them missing only a few times. Closest guy to his mark was Peyton Manning and he didn’t get anywhere near brees
