iMac 27″ VS 13″ Macbook Pro

Filed in Technology 25 comments

I’ve had my 27″ Quad Core i5 iMac for almost two weeks now and thought it would be a good time to start rolling out the iMac 27″ series. This is first of many videos planned. In this particular video, I will compare my Mid 2009 Macbook Pro (base line model, 2.26ghz) with this BEAST. Enjoy. can you send me your imac background please or link!!!!! please

@juanieTV the MBP is for people who want portability, always on the go type of people. iMacs are for people who keep in one location (offices etc).

  • juanieTV

i have both, but just wondering why they are basically the same price?

Hey about the movie export, even though the iMac is quad-core the hard drive in the iMac is 7200rpm where as the macbook is stock at 5400rpm so that will make a big difference. 1800rpm difference!

    FREEEEDDOMMM!!!!!!!

  • osctube7

Don’t you have any fan noise issue?

  • theunits3

@phantomofopera91 yep, they are in an entire different league. i realise that.

  • phantomofopera91

You really have to consider your purposes for these machines as both are VERY different animals. I have the 15 inch MBP with the 2.53 ghz chip and it runs super fast, probably not nearly as fast as the new imac, but then again its a sacrifice for the portability

  • phantomofopera91

@elgeek79 The MacBook Pro should have no problem with the FCS

  • theunits3

@CPHComputerHelp95 LOL. Thats insane. I thought you initially said that they want YOU to paint THEIR room, in exchange for the iMac. lol. So your getting your entire room done up from THEM and getting an iMac. Sweet. lol

  • CPHComputerHelp95

@theunits3 Thanks man. I’ll be getting it some time next month. I made a pretty nice deal with my parents, If I let them paint my room and get all new crap for it (I didnt like the colors, which is why they have to bribe me) they’ll get me the iMac xD Its pretty crazy, but what the heck, I’m getting an iMac just for letting them paint my room.

  • theunits3

@CPHComputerHelp95 Oh yes. Easily. I do it on mines (also have the imac 27″)

  • CPHComputerHelp95

Would the iMac be capable of rendering HD 1080p video?

  • Mattsana

The reason why Pro was a bit faster is due to the extreme resolution iMac has. Its ALOT more for the GPU to render do to the amount of pixels.

  • SgtPetrol

@elgeek79 yes if the software is for mac it will work if u have enought space

  • anw36

    @HefferHefferHeffer pro

  • selenaboy5

@elgeek79 u can order them online and put them on it

  • RugB346

The boot-up isn’t really a great test the real deal is the video export. The i5 crushes the Core 2 Duo which is still a really good processor but a 50% better time to export that movie file is impressive.

  • maximarco88

Reset PRAM to get it faster on boot up

  • haydogs2

ive got the save wallpaper but mine is very dim it could be my apple emac screen or it could be ur pic or camer or ur imac

  • MrGangproster

Idk witch one to get I think imma go with the mbp

  • HarryMcGibbon
