No he parado de ver este video.. y se me hace impresionante la fuerza del terremoto. Lo que me sorprende tambien es que esta ciudad esta mucho mas lejos del epicentro.. pero la fuerza pareciera que se triplico.. porque aun en Santiago no se vio tan extrema la sacudida..
Creo que es el mejor video que he visto de un teremoto.

Amazing. My gawd, I flinched when watching the people trying to hang onto the counter. Looks llike one woman actually gets smacked into it pretty hard while trying to hang onto it. Looked very difficult to stand and walk.

I am from the United States. I’m shocked how little damage occurred in Chile. The US should learn from Chile’s architecture.

We were in Viña del Mar ( Chile ) which is approximately 320 miles north off of the epicenter. We felt this damned killer the same way those people in that Hotel did in their southern location. The summation of both distances, which rounded up to 640 miles is about the distance from San Francisco to few miles beyond south of Tijuana, Mexico. The epicenter shook at 8.8 º Richter while in our extremes was 7.6 º.
I might be wrong but I think Haiti earthquake was 7.5

You are right! The buildings in Chile supported the earthquake extremely well. Valdivia is 450 Km (300 miles) from the epicenter. I was in Concepción with my family (only 100 Km from the epicenter) and I can tell that it was really stronger there. We were in a Holiday Inn hotel and nothing happened, except for the wall around the hotel and the objects inside the building, like LCDs, etc. The destroyed buildings shown on TV represent less than 0.1% of the buildings in the earthquake area.

Dios Mio!! Quedé impactada con este video… que miedo!! Que dificil estar ahi en esos momentos!!! Mis mas sinceros respetos al Arquitecto/Ingeniero que hizo ese edificio.
