@kai199191 – Please view out other videos for the procedure. We have the whole disassembly broken out in different videos.

Thanks for the video! It will help me a lot when i will get my Macbook with stuck inverterboard.

But…. How is the music called that starts from 3:50?

  • kai199191

to remove the whole LCD display assembly( including the top plastic shell), what do I have to remove from the main case? do I have to remove the CD drive to get to the LCD assembly’s latch?

@bereft560 – Our company provides send in repair services as well.

  • bereft560

lol, i am not trying this because i know i would mess up somewhere. is there anyone who would do the procedure for me?

  • PowerbookMedic

If your backlight is out but you can still make out images on the screen…

  • kai199191

when would you have to replace the inverter board?

  • PowerbookMedic

    Yes it is.

  • dusty2400

PBM, is the screen in the video from Model no. A1181?

  • PowerbookMedic

The screen is available from our website. Yes, it’s cheaper than Apple.

  • nobeadm

where did you purchase the extra screen from? is it any cheaper than getting it replaced at apple?

  • PowerbookMedic

Check the connections to your inverter cable as the backlight on the LCD is controlled by the inverter cable / inverter board.

i just tryed to replace my 13.3 macbook screen but now when i turn it on i get the light at the front for 3 sec’s then it turns off? ive replased the old cracked screen but it still won’t boot. any help?

  • PowerbookMedic

That means that your inverter cable is not properly connected or that there is a problem with your inverter board.

I changed out a screen on a powerbook 17″ and the screen works but it’s very dark. I can barely see the log in?

  • PowerbookMedic

Without a drive it’s hard to know what else failed on the machine. If the unit boots up to a blinking icon, then it means it is just looking for a hard drive, and likely everything else is fine..

my hard drive is dead, so I’m wondering what is the signs are that my computer is working.
just checking if its worth getting a new hard drive

  • PowerbookMedic

It isn’t possible for you to change a 13″ screen with a 15″ one.

  • PowerbookMedic

The tool is available from our website. Check out out profile or the video for the URL.

I just attempted to replace my screen. One problem I have is that I took one from a white macbook and put it into a black macbook. The two diverter cables on the white one are pink and yellow and the ones on the black macbook is black and grey, I do not know which ones are which. Also my back light is not working and i know for a fact it is not the inverter. I did disconnect all of the cables from the housing around the screen. Which wires do what maybe this will help me out.

  • PowerbookMedic

These are available from our website with a one year warranty.
