Um, use a pro camera. You can rent one if you are in a large city.

You need a special camera to make a good movie trailer. Go to Best Buy and ask the employees about the camera. They are usually expensive.

Here’s my tip. Use a webcam, or get a plug in microphone. I make videos all the time using mainly my webcam. It doesn’t pick up as much annoying noise. If you use a plug in mic, make sure you get a stand or a boom and let some one else hold it.
You can check out some of my videos if you want.
    Good luck!
Here’s a fake movie trailer I made for a contest..

First thing is to create a second sound track, then when you edit it you can add it and remove the one taken by your camera.

create a story board, put your video into pictures to tell the story. every video has a beginning, middle and an end.

Get the lighting right, arrange the lights so that they give you the desired effect, shadows, or no shadows, position of the camera use a tripod, take plenty of footage and loads of scenes, as you are probably going to edit it afterwards. Use a reasonable camera, not a $100 one. it wont matter what you do its not going to be up to it.

if you are not happy with the scene then do it again and again until you get it right.

    Good luck

It will never look professional without professional equipment, sorry. But wait! You can make your trailer look as good as possible with what you have. See, the idea is to show how good you can create a PRODUCTION. That is what gets the attention of a potential audience or even someone looking to hire you.
