How do I restore my iMac to the original default desktop and display?

Hi, My mom did something to our iMac (she doesn’t remember what it was) – and now the display is enormous as well as the words, icons, etc. I just want to know how I restore everything to how it was? I’ve tried going into the display thing and adjusting that. But it didn’t work.

    By THAT you mean Resolution? Does it appear in Jagged lines or straight lines? Is it on the dock? Is it on the Icons? Is it on Everything?

    if you hold control and scroll with your mouse at the same time, you can zoom in/out. Or if it the resolution, you can go to system preferences, then displays, and choose the resolution that it was before. hope this helped! :) )

    hit control then scroll down on your mouse it should work
