Chasing the Vermont Rail System’s Washington County train from Newbury to Pompanoosuc, Vermont

Filed in Uncategorized 2 comments

Clarendon & Pittsford GP38 #203 leads the Vermont Rail System’s weekday White River Junction turn on its southbound return trip January 23, 2009. The route is the former Boston & Maine Connecticut River line, once the host of joint service with Canadian Pacific. Today it is a light density route with both overhead and online traffic. Turns run out of White River Jct. and Newport, meeting in the middle of the line and swapping crews. Thus, #203 started her day in Newport, while her crew is returning back to their starting point in WRJ. The short train of a boxcar, covered hopper and log car is seen rolling through the snow past the Round Barn in Newbury and again in Bradford, Fairlee (Ely) and Pompanoosuc, Vermont The video was shot on a Garden State Central Model Railroad Club, Inc. trip to New England. The videographer is Robert John Davis. htt[://www.robertjohndavis.com
