Mixing operators are at a high level of risk for asbestos exposure and the asbestos cancer mesothelioma, as asbestos has commonly been used as a cement additive. Mesothelioma is a rare but aggressive cancer almost exclusively linked to prolonged asbestos exposure, affecting thousands of mixing operators.
