@erich1979 thanks for the confirmation “out in the field” ;-)

1 was correct i just did it

@bluejava Thanks for the heads’ up, but pressing 1 allows you to Program your phone and pressing 2 lets you update Roaming.

The reason for most people not getting a good signal is not related so much to Roaming as it is to their phone’s Programing. Verizon tech support, states that pressing 1 (to re-program your phone) is the most common way to improve your signal strength – which was my point to save battery life.

So I’m gonna stand by what I recorded in the video: pressing 1 helps.

Your tip, about updating coverage by calling *228 and then pressing 1, seems to in error. I believe the correct menu selection is 2.

@alii0268 It’s a pleasure… did you see my other video tips?

Love the power tip. Definitely going to check that out on my droid phone!

I apologize. I assumed(never assume!) that the incredible (which i have) had the same menu as the droid

@DeanDino2359 Thanks for the tip.. and the kudos! There are other battery saving ideas as well (too many for one video) and I welcome all of them here or as a comment on our website version of these tutorials.

re. your tip: I looked at my Moto Droid phone and the last screen only showed Data roaming or System select. I’ll assume you mean “System select” which has “Home only” or Automatic” as the only options – are you suggesting changing it to “Home Only” since “Automatic” is the default?

  • DeanDino2359

dont forget: this really helps too. As udual, excellent video.Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks (second one) > Enable Always-On — checked by default, I unchecked it.
