  • MissPopeyes22

how can i do a similar look if my eyebrows are thick? plz plz plz answer because i’ve recently been obsessed with the 1920s look.
    thanks

  • TEASEbutterfly

You’re an amazing makeup artist. I love your work and I love this tutorial. I’m an aspiring model and I’ve been watching a ton of tutorials recently so that I can (hopefully) learn how to do my own makeup. I’m also a big fan of the 1920′s and Clara Bow, so this was amazing. :)

  • contemplativegirl21

    Beautiful.

Though that’s a lot heavier makeup than I would use, I LOVE the look. Personally, I think it’s very flattering, especially considering it was used in black and white film/photography.

The only thing I would use from the 20′s look is the dropped eye (less makeup but with same effect) and the red lip color–I like both a great deal. The bedroom eye, especially…

You have a beautiful face, by the way.
    :-)

  • blossomcandy01

    Beautiful hair!!

  • polytypyitqfp

remarkable tips and hints! thanks, have any of you used Max factors most recent line of products? its difficult to find makeup in Newry yet i managed to recieve some brilliant cosmetics samples by using “GratisMakeupSamples”, their handy.

  • philidor3

Very informative. Thanks. Red in an paper from the summer of 1925 that Clara Bow was the first to “wear” hand-painted legs in public. “The decorations ran in floral motifs”. No photo exists to document this “gagaistic” exploit a la Bow however, so I have a proposition…

  • coraliehkmcg

breathtaking techniques thanks, has anyone used Sally Hansens new line of products?? its quite hard to find quality makeup in Northlake but you can obtain some magnificent samples via ‘Gratis Makeup Samples’, there ace.

  • CitizenGatsby

Amazing look! You are so talented. I love the historical tidbits about makeup in the 1920s, too. It’s all very fascinating. Thanks for sharing! :)

Your hair looks beautiful in this video, BTW.

  • foreversaved

@19myself91 That’s more a reflection of art (incl. pop art) style/ideals back then. It’s from Edwardian period ideals about a woman’s rosy-cheeked healthy glow (funny, because rich women involved themselves in fewer activities, and the all-over rosy achieved by actual working women was considered rough). Nonetheless, old ideals also thought women with noticeable rouge were considered “loose.” If they wore any, it was VERY slight and powdered over. Was more about defining a few striking features.

  • marshmellowmeltedass

I might’ve already asked you this once before, but if you could, could you please tell me how to do a Theda Bara inspired look? pretty please? it’s before this look, the “vamp” look.

  • valobam8913

i actually really like this look, and i think that people who are conventional wouldn’t like it, but i’d totally wear this to school and get some attention

  • shonyshoshony

you are so pretty with no make up on! :)

  • CuteChick344

a lot of people say i should try out the 1920s makeup because i have similar facial characteristics as clara bow….. Thanks ill give this a try :)

  • 19myself91

one of my favourite tutorials here!

But did women really not wear any blush? On many painted portraits of women from the late 19th century to the 1930s I have seen blush that seemed to go from directly below the eyes down to the apples of the cheeks or sometimes right on the apples. Do you know if this was an actual makeup technique then?
