Traffic to 200 leading online retail sites was up 10 per cent in September. The Internet Retailer reports how this could be a sign for a strong holiday season for e-retailers. Web measurement firm Compete Inc, say there was considerable variation by product category; however jewellery, watches and auction sites registered increases in unique visitors for the month. Among individual e-commerce sites, the CVS.com site of the drugstore chain more than doubled its traffic in September to 5.9 million, and ranked 20th on the list of most-visited sites. Amazon.com was the top site in traffic, with 68.7 million unique visitors, more than double the 30.8 million of No. 2 Walmart.com. It’s also been reported that Amazons traffic increased 23.3 per cent year over year and Walmart.com’s traffic was up 23 per cent. Please ONLY answer if you HAVE an online business. Basically, I just need to know what an average monthly price should be for a website that can support a business and have enough bandwidth without causing slow usage. Also, if you have any suggestions for where I should host my domain that would be great. Lastly, if you have started and online retail business please share some tips which could help my effort.
